Greenwood Air Management - A leader in designing and manufacturing air movement products

Greenwood had reached a barrier.  After some years of growth, the potential for further growth seemed difficult to identify.  There was dispute within the top team about the strategies required.

PRC were asked to intervene and work with the Board to find new solutions.  A study was implemented that gained the views of all staff about what it was like to work at Greenwood and what ideas the staff had for future growth.

The Board were brought together and PRC facilitated a coaching program that encouraged the team to consider opportunities not previously considered.

Various decisions were made - including moving manufacturing abroad, through to setting up a development team to work on a range of new ideas and conducting a complete review of customer needs.  The result was an identification for growth in sales and profitability that far exceeded previous expectations.  The plan was delivered and exceeded.

Air Cargo & Containers - An SME in the air freight business

This business had a crisis - a member of staff who had his contract terminated after 3 months then went to Employment Tribunal stating that he was disabled and that this represented disability discrimination.  Even though he had less than 1 year service, the Tribunal accepted the case under Disability Discrimination Act - which does not recognise any service requirements.

PRC helped ACCS to compose a powerful response to the claim, based on the concept that the employee had been found to be a Health & Safety risk (he was employed as a driver and turned out to be a bad one).  Health & Safety is more employment than discrimination in the hierarchy of employment law.  We also defended that the employee had not informed the company that he was disabled and indeed had answered 'No' to the question on his application form.

The case went to pre hearing, where PRC established the right for ACCS to see evidence that the employee had informed DVLA of his disability.  Unsurprisingly this was not forthcoming and the employee agreed to a very small settlement in the following week -  saving ACCS significant legal costs and the costs of needing to provide 4 witnesses (out of the 12 team) for a three day Tribunal.

Tony Schirmer (MD) commented: 'PRC Services saved us from a potentially costly and time consuming case.  They also provided great support and advice on how to avoid such situations in the future - a lesson well learnt!

More House School -  A private school in London The Governors identified that they did not have a complete set of policies as required by law.

PRC provided school specific policy and a checklist of how to implement policies.  PRC also provided a checklist of all other policies required and those that would be helpful.

Robert Carlysle (Headmaster) commented: 'PRC services were fast to respond and provided much more than expected - with solid advice and support'

Guy Carpenter - A leading risk and insurance business The top team were finding it a challenge to communicate well enough as the business grew fast.  PRC organised a team event with psychometric tests.  This led to each member of the team learning about their communication preferences and those of others.  This led to new ways of working together more successfully.
